Behind the Front Door at Maud’s Home
Peeking inside Maud’s home feels like a warm welcome: a place she shares with her boyfriend, their dogs, and chickens, surrounded by an environment where nature and coziness come together.
Conscious Choices
In daily life, Maud works in social care while studying for a Master’s in Health Innovation. Still, work does not take center stage for her: she consciously chooses a life where peace, hobbies, walking with the dogs, and enjoying the garden are just as important.
"I love being at home, looking outside at the chickens and chicks, or simply pottering around the house and garden."
Sustainable and Creative
Sustainability runs like a common thread through her life. With a vegetable garden and eggs from her own chickens, Maud quite literally brings nature indoors. Creativity also plays a big role in her interior: thrifted treasures are given a second life, cabinets get a fresh makeover, and her own paintings proudly hang above the sofa. Her interior style? A calm, Scandinavian foundation with color, plenty of plants, and an atmosphere that feels complete, from lighting to music.
Living with Atmosphere and Seasons
Maud and her boyfriend have now lived in their home with a lovely garden for three and a half years. A dream come true, as Maud herself grew up in a farmhouse. Inside, the sofa Nord from By SIDDE takes center stage. “The color fits perfectly, I love the piping details, and it’s easy to clean—even with muddy dog paws.” Depending on the season, she changes the layout: free-standing in summer, cozy as a corner sofa in winter.
Favorites and Tips
Her favorite items at home? Besides the sofa, definitely the large plants, her self-made paintings, and the furniture and accessories she inherited from her grandmother. And of course, her two ovens—a must for a baking enthusiast who loves to treat friends and family.
Her tip: “Go visit a thrift store! You’ll find beautiful furniture and accessories, and with a bit of creativity you can give them a new life and a unique place in your interior. For me, home is so much more than a house: it’s where my dogs, friends, family, creativity, and nature all come together. A home that truly feels like an extension of who I am.”
